My journey

I graduated from Musical Theater School in 2002. Since then it's been a crazy unexpected ride of ups and downs but I always found it to be formative and very inspiring for my artistic journey. I succeeded in landing a role in my first big show right out school, in the musical revue Les Divas and then again in 2004 with the amazing opportunity to play in my favorite musical, RENT, a Just for Laughs production, but with the Musical Director and Director from the NY crew. What a thrill! At that time, I was also composing a lot, rehearsing with my band the Zookeepers, doing edgy sounding alternative music. Then life took a turn for the worst and I had to quit music for what seemed like an eternity. From that moment of hiatus, was born, Vieux Motard que j'aimais, a musical that I wrote and produced in 2008. A comedy, sitcom style, that reconciled me with the stage. From the amount of laugher and full houses that we obtained, I understood that I was not alone trying to cope with the challenges that life had handed me.

In 2009, I started working on my songs, left in my notebooks four years prior. Around that time, I also made a spoken voice demo that brought me, since then, countless opportunities. I was hired as a traffic reporter for the Rouge and NRJ stations in Quebec City and made my way to a Montreal South Shore station as the host of the drive home show, Chéri j’arrive!. My passion for voice work increased as I was doing more and more freelance work as a voice talent for commercials. This enabled me to pay for my first album Closing the Book, that was released in 2013. These were the orchestral versions of the once punky songs I had created as a younger version of myself. In 2014, opportunity came knocking again as I received a grant to start my own business, Studio Open House, with my sound engineer/life partner Dan Smith. Since then, I’ve been doing radio hosting, commercials, voice acting (I was awarded the role of Celeste in the game Atlas Reactor from Trion Worlds last year) and giving voice training, all that from the comfort of our home studio.

In my new album Bat Shit Crazy, I am exploring the archetypal energy of Lilith, the Black Moon and the shadow side of humanity. It is a representation of the dark feminine rebelling against patriarchal oppression distorting her truth. The message is nonetheless intended for all who want to allow themselves a moment of insurgence. Can't wait to share it with you.
